Since I can remember, I have been a girl who is good at drawing and sculpturing. It was the post offices in Taiwan, where my artistic sense was enlightened by the cartoons explaining of service processes. Living in a community fully combined with culture and creative industries, I was deeply impressed and inspired.
I completed my undergraduate degree at Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) , majored in Architecture Design, from which I was taught comprehensive consideration and problem solving ability to deal with either place researches or detailed designs. And it is always significant for me to convey some artistic and cultural ideas through my designs. CAFA brings me a world of contemporary art and design and acquaints me with the latest happening of my interested fields. The five-year design education in CAFA convinced me that art and beauty, can give you the artist’s disposition and accomplishment, and what’s more, make the world better.
After graduation, I tried to experience more types of design. I decided to work for an E-commercial company. During the two-year work, I learned how to balance the relationship between design and business. At the meantime, I also took part in project management, marketing and HRM. I find on the E-commercial platform, few pictures may obviously influence the website traffic and product sales, and even the whole product chain and capital chain. I feel deeply understood that when industries combine with culture, much more opportunities and possibilities may happen.
I like traveling. I was fortunately to participate an exchange program at Aarhus School of Architecture in Denmark for half a year. Two years after graduate, I lived in London for 10 months. During this time, I met many people, traveled around the Europe. I was deeply impressed by the high level of civilization and the abundant collections of their museums. I like tasting the style of their streets, watching different types of performance and so surprised by their packed theaters. When I saw the vigor and unlimited energy of the cultural industries in Europe, I was so envy. If China could also enjoy such abundant and high quality art-cultural resources, it would be much easier to improve people’s artistic accomplishments and create a more respectful cultural ecology.
In this information era, I can feel the great prospect of Chinese culture industry. Based on above, I decided to go back school and learn knowledge of culture industry systematically. I am a postgraduate student of Peking University since September 2016 and get ready to involve in the future researches.
