Theme: Traditional Chinese Arts in the Western Perspective
The International symposium was organized by the National Centre for Research into Intercultural Communication of Arts and the School of Arts, Peking University. Over twenty experts and scholars from the Ministry of Culture of PRC; Peking University, PRC; China Conservatory of Music, PRC; Pomona College, US; Bingham University, US; HEC Montréal, CA; Concordia university, CA; the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, UK; and the University of Zurich, SUI have attended this symposium. Participants involved in detailed discussion and thoughtful communication on topics related to aesthetic values, cultural values, market values and intercultural communication of traditional Chinese arts. The latest findings of the National Social Science Foundation Major Arts Research Project: Research on the Policy and Strategy of International Communication of Chinese Culture and Arts has also been demonstrated at the symposium.
