On June 1, 2016, the 2016 research results seminar for National Social Science Foundation Significant Arts Research Project: Research on the Policy and Strategy of International Communication of Chinese Culture and Arts was held at Peking University. During the event, Professor Xie Dajing, head of the sub-project “Talent Strategy”, from the China Conservatory of Music and his research team reported on the progress of the sub-group. In the report, group members separately gave examples on case studies on China’s typical “Go Abroad” original artwork repertoire. They presented in-depth analyses on a number of topics, including repertoire productions, performance results, management and marketing models, and existing problems.
The report also investigated the current state of development of China’s original artworks, the bottlenecks and obstacles to the cross-cultural communication of Chinese artwork, and the role of government, social organizations, and artists in the culture and arts market. The sub-group then discussed the issues that presented from the report with other meeting participants. Finally, Professor Lin Yi of School of Arts Peking University, Principal Investigator of the research group, summarized the meeting and offered recommendations for the “Talent Strategy” sub-group’s future research direction.
